Behold the new site design... what you see before your eyes is the design that the final site will be built off of. It is crafted after the minimalist unfinished GUI inside Neverdaunt.
In other news: Combat is nearly complete. I have little missiles exploding out of top hats, save points and looting works nicely.
Alpha stage 4 has been canceled. I didn't want to do this, but its for the best. My goal is to finish Neverdaunt to the point where it will be enjoyable to a player for at least a couple of hours at a time, and then work on the release.
New Development Blog. If for no other reason then to let you know I am in fact working night and day on this. Where as this section will only be relevant and important news, the devblog will be full of nonsense.
And thats it for now... if you want to get in on the next Alpha test, register on the forums.

All around its a better forum system too. Also, there are details up there about Alpha Stage 4 and beyond!

Neverdaunt is looking better and better as days go by. The Monsters will be included in the next version of the alpha, along with a completely redone visuals (finally moving away from the test meshes).
Its always nice to have people stop by and visit, take a look at what I'm working on and exclaim "Wow, it looks just like your concept sketches!" ...To friends and family, thanks a ton for your encouragement and support.
Neverdauntians! thanks for your continued alpha testing! We managed to get (almost) all the bugs out of stage two! Thanks for breaking everything, and all your suggestions, Neverdaunt is going to be spectacular because of you guys. Special huge thanks to Ovek for his Network library! Also much thanks to Arius for the waving foliage shader, the grass and tree branches moving in the wind makes the whole world look alive.
Anyhow, if your wanting to get in on the next version sign, up at the alpha forums and I'll send out an email to everyone when its ready.

An excellent post over at the development blog for Vermund, suggests a much needed title change for the kind of software that Neverdaunt is. MMPE stands for Massively Multi Participant Environment.
In other news, the Alpha is on going and we are taking in new players as needed. Lots of bugs to fix, lots of features to add!

The alpha testing is only days away, and things are looking good enough to post a screenshot.

Things are going well, the beta server has been ordered and things are wrapping up for alpha testing to begin. More videos and screenshots will be available shortly.

Added a preview of the avatars available to Neverdauntians upon their arrival. Chibi, Normish, Neko, Monster, and the yet incomplete Robot (this model just used for scale). Visit the Media section and take a look.

I added the FAQ in today. Help me add to it by asking questions. aion@neverdaunt.com

Yesterday I finished and tested animation. Ive got little Chibi's running around and idly swaying. It was really such a small step compared to other bits of code, but the effect of seeing them move around like that really made it feel like a huge leap. The sense of satisfaction is overwhelming.
It is as if I've really brought them to life.

I'm building a universe. Some people might call it an MMO-RPG, however, my hope is that it refines that term instead of fitting into its stereotype.
So i have decided to better document its progress in the open inter-tubes via the awesomeness of blog.
I would like to start by examining two things: Play, and Fun.
Playing, is how mammals learn and socialize. Fun is a rush of peptides (chemicals that make you feel) that your brain releases to let you know that your playing is working.
That combination works pretty well. Us humans are smart, and we've found lots of ways to play and experience fun. Games are a great way to do that. And i really enjoy games, particularly, video games.
Unfortunately I think some game writers have forgotten these origins. The fun and the play has been reduced to meh. Instead it seems like they define video games as watching your avatar run around and collect virtual stuff.
I'm trying to change things. I've gone and thrown everything out and started back at the beginning. here is this great technology that can put a lot of people in communication all at once, how can i make a game with this? how can i help people play and have fun?
I am building Neverdaunt.
